AudiologyNOW! "Influencer" Presentation Offers Practical Tools for Workplace Management
Audiologists in all practice settings must frequently resolve challenging and persistent behavioral dilemmas in the workplace. These problems might range from patients who are resistant to new technology, to staff or students whose customer service skills “need improvement,” to a peer who regularly omits important information from patient records. Influencer: How to Create Change in Your Audiology Workplace, delivered a powerful new science of influence that draws from more than five decades of the best social science research. This interactive Tier One session provided practical tools and a coherent and portable model for changing behaviors, ultimately resulting in better outcomes for your patients. Candace Bertotti is member of the VitalSmarts Facilitator Faculty, and is a Master Certified Trainer in Crucial Conversation®, Crucial Confrontations®, and Influencer Training™. She specializes in conflict resolution, negotiation, and interpersonal communications to help individuals, teams, and organizations increase effectiveness and achieve bottom-line results.

“I found the information presented to be exceptional and applicable in many situations that audiologists encounter on a daily basis,” said Gail Whitelaw, PhD, an attendee at the session in Boston. “ In addition, the session was great fun and provided an opportunity for interaction. We were asked to work on a critical situation by table…and left with concrete suggestions, based on the model that was presented. And the session was as entertaining as informative.” Ms. Bertotti earned a Master of Public Administration at Harvard University, BA at Indiana University, Project Management Master’s Certificate at The George Washington University, and her Education Policy Certificate at The University of Virginia. In addition to her educational credentials, she is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI), a mediator for the District of Columbia Superior Court, and a member of the Metro DC Chapter of the American Society of Training and Development.
